{"id":205,"date":"2020-11-27T12:39:31","date_gmt":"2020-11-27T11:39:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.convivia.it\/eng\/?p=205"},"modified":"2023-07-18T08:45:48","modified_gmt":"2023-07-18T06:45:48","slug":"convivia-exhibits-at-terra-madre-salone-del-gusto-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.convivia.it\/en\/2020\/11\/convivia-exhibits-at-terra-madre-salone-del-gusto-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Convivia exhibits at Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Turin, 8 October 2020 for six months) &#8211; Terra Madre begins on <strong>8 October and does not stop for six months<\/strong>, with a mix of digital and physical <strong>events<\/strong> &#8211; in Turin, Piedmont, and around the world!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Terra Madre is a worldwide network, created by <strong>Slow Food<\/strong> in 2004, which brings together the &#8220;<strong>food communitie<\/strong>s&#8221; committed, each in its geographical and cultural context, to <strong>safeguarding<\/strong> the quality of local <strong>agro-food production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The communities share the <strong>problems<\/strong> generated by the practice of <strong>intensive agriculture<\/strong> which is detrimental to <strong>natural resources<\/strong> and by a mass food industry tending to the <strong>standardization<\/strong> of tastes and capable of undermining the very existence of <strong>small-scale production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nearly <strong>9,000 people<\/strong> gathered in Turin in 2006 during the second Terra Madre convention: 4,803 farmers, breeders, fishermen and artisanal agri-food operators from 1,583 food communities in 150 countries; 953 cooks; 411 professors and representatives of 225 universities, 2,320 observers and chaperones and 776 volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next edition was held in Turin from 23 to 27 October 2008, always in conjunction with the <strong>Salone del Gusto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2020 edition adapts to current needs and becomes <strong>digital<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many events spread over several months and a multiplicity of formulas. Thanks to the new <strong>digital platform<\/strong>, people will be able to <strong>explore<\/strong> new content and get in touch with all the Slow Food communities in 160 countries around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Terra Madre&#8217;s public potential is extremely broad and diversified by interests and specificities: from <strong>informed consumers<\/strong> to <strong>producers<\/strong>, from <strong>gastronomic enthusiasts<\/strong> to environmental <strong>activists<\/strong>, from <strong>schools<\/strong> to <strong>families<\/strong>, from companies in the sector and from the extrasector, from <strong>journalists<\/strong> to <strong>experts<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Browsing through the scheduled events, you can <strong>travel<\/strong> to discover different <strong>cultures<\/strong> and culinary <strong>traditions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CONVIVIA is sincerely <strong>honored<\/strong> to participate in Terra Madre &#8211; Salone del Gusto 2020, that is the Italian food fair of the true <strong>excellence<\/strong> of <strong>natural<\/strong>, <strong>clean<\/strong>, <strong>good<\/strong> and <strong>respectful<\/strong> of nature food.
